Welcome to the Women’s Self-Compassion for Anxiety Group!
Do you feel a need to connect with other women who can understand your anxiety journey, so that you can feel less alone and have healing support?
My 6-week Self-Compassion for Anxiety group is a safe, uplifting space where you’ll learn how to manage anxiety with warmth, kindness, and the power of self-compassion.
What you can expect
In this group, you will learn and practice proven strategies for managing anxiety by nurturing self-compassion and using externalizing and self-awareness skills. Through a blend of structured activities, personal reflection, and shared experiences, I’ll teach you find ways to manage anxious thoughts with kindness and understanding, rather than self-criticism.
Within the group, you’ll find compassionate support and commonality with other women just like you. Anxiety often isolates us and makes us feel alone or “crazy;” the group will remind us that we are in strong company and can learn from each other while also encouraging and supporting one another.
Format & Activities
Group sessions are a 6-week cohort in which we meet for group activities, individual reflections and sharing, psychoeducation and learning, practice of mindfulness and self-awareness activities, and independent exercises to implement before we meet again.
You’ll receive a workbook to use during and in between group sessions.
You can expect these types of activities in our group:
-
Each session will begin with a guided mindfulness practice to help calm your mind and center yourself in the present moment. This practice helps reduce anxiety and provides you with a tool you can use anytime.
-
Every session will include time for facilitated open sharing. While participation is optional, many find comfort in knowing they’re not alone and hearing from others who share similar experiences. This supportive environment fosters connection and validation.
-
Learn relaxation techniques and visualizations that will help you create a peaceful mental space where you can retreat when anxiety feels overwhelming.
-
We'll guide you through specific journaling prompts that help you connect with your feelings and reframe self-critical thoughts. Writing exercises will allow you to explore your emotions safely, developing more compassion toward yourself.
-
Through simple yet powerful practices, like self-compassion breaks or kind self-talk, you’ll learn how to treat yourself with the care you deserve, especially in moments of anxiety or stress.
-
Between sessions, you’ll be encouraged to practice the techniques we explore during our meetings. This “homework” is designed to help you integrate these practices into your daily life, building resilience over time.
Why self-compassion in a group setting?
Anxiety often leaves us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, and critical of ourselves. By embracing self-compassion, you’ll learn to respond to your anxiety with kindness rather than judgment. Research shows that practicing self-compassion can reduce anxiety, improve emotional well-being, and foster greater resilience in the face of life’s challenges.
A group setting always us to connect with others who can understand exactly and how we feel. We get to experience the common humanity of self-compassion as we meet. Community and connection can be important antidotes to anxiety as we can experience emotional safety together. Here’s your community - join us!
