Privacy Policy

Open View Counseling is a private counseling practice based in Denver, Colorado. Though not located in the EU, we support the privacy initiative of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which means you are protected from us storing and using any information about you without consent. You can request (at no cost to you) that we remove your data from our systems at your will.

Type of information we collect:

Open View Counseling is the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. We only collect basic personal data about you which does not include any special types of information or location-based information. We ask for your name, email, phone number, age, how you’ll pay for therapy, and what you’re looking for help with in order to understand if we might be a good fit to work together and in order to contact you to set up a counseling consultation.

Your personal health information, which is protected by law, will never be collected on our website. That information is collected through a HIPAA-compliant secure system called Simple Practice at the outset of our counseling relationship, and privacy information will also be provided to you then.

Why we need your data:

We need to know your basic personal data in order to contact you and schedule a counseling consultation. We will not collect any personal data from you we do not need in order to connect with you.

Because we are collecting your contact information, we take extra care with our security. We ensure that our website can be accessed through secure HTTPS protocols.

What we do with your data

All personal data we process is reviewed and stored securely by our counselors and administrative assistant. We cannot control what access third parties have to your data without your consent. Open View Counseling will never share, rent, sell or lease your personal information to any unaffiliated person or entity for any reason and without your fully expressed consent.
