📓✏️ Here’s a journal prompt to help you g 📓✏️ Here’s a journal prompt to help you gain perspective on the situation you’re grappling with and understand what’s not sitting well with you. There’s a Buddhist belief that suffering comes from resistance, and is proportionate to just how much we resist it. Buddhism acknowledges suffering as part of life. We might say that our Western culture tends to lean more toward seeking perfection, ease, and comfort… trying as hard we can to avoid suffering. Sometimes we pretend that we can actually evade all suffering and just be perfectly happy. 🙃If we look at what we think *should* be different in any given situation, we have a chance at finding what we’re resisting. Use this journal entry as part of a self-compassion and self-awareness practice, and then offer yourself soothing words that acknowledge (rather than dismiss) how you’re feeling. #selfcompassion #suffering #journalprompt #reflection #counseling #therapy #journaling
STOP! 🛑 PAUSE! ⏸️This is yo STOP! 🛑 PAUSE! ⏸️This is your daily reminder to practice self-compassion and to be kind to yourself. If you feel like your day is moving too fast, you’re rushing, and it’s hard to slow down - this is your moment step out of that. Follow the instructions on the slides for a minute of calm. #selfcompassion #slowdown #mentalhealth #toobusy
There are a lot of symptoms of burnout that we’r There are a lot of symptoms of burnout that we’re unfortunately probably all familiar with by now - lack of productivity, lack of motivation, disinterest in work and activities…. Here are a few that are harder to catch. And there’s a habit that goes with them. It’s a habit that’s common among us (recovering) perfectionists, hard workers, high or overachievers… any guesses? The first thing that we do when these things come up is turn inward and ask ourselves why we’re failing and how we can “fix” ourselves to get back to our high-performing selves. We immediately self-blame. I’m all for accountability, but I’m not for blame and shame. If we want to recover from burnout (which we can!), we need to look not just at ourselves, but also at the environment and systems in which we are operating. When we acknowledge the entire situation, we can decide what boundaries we want to set, ask for support in setting those boundaries, and be clear about what’s NOT ours to fix.#burnout #workculture #workplace #stress #overworked
